Reform Tables Motion to Leave the City of Sanctuary Scheme

On Tuesday, Reform UK Birmingham tabled a motion calling on Birmingham City Council to leave the City of Sanctuary scheme and put Birmingham residents first.

We will never apologise for standing up for the people who elected us. Our duty is to the residents of Birmingham, and we will continue to argue that the Council’s time, money and resources should be focused on delivering for them.

The motion was proposed by Cllr Graham Green and seconded by Cllr Cherie Waddingham.

Unfortunately, the motion was voted down by the Green–Liberal Democrat–Independent coalition and Labour councillors.
